Speaking of female purple finch: Yesterday on Wander Rd (West of MN1
MM308 in Lake County) I had this drab bird with a beautiful brief
song. The lighting was such that I couldn't ID it. I have since seen
her better. But I did some research and read that female Purple Finch
will sing on territory announcing their availability. Since then I
have noticed her up and down the road singing from prominent perches.
I hope she finds a guy, and that you find a dream job.
