Birded with two high school students in Becker County, mostly around Hamden Slough NWR. The boys ID'd 54 species with help and I saw another 9 that they were unable to ID. It was their second trip with me. The highlight was the 300 longspurs near Audubon. All I was able to ID were lapland as they were only on the ground once, and then behind a hill. Only my second sighting of longspurs in my life, so I was excited to share it with them. Also saw franklin's gull, l. yellowlegs, w.t. sparrow, m. godwit, and G.P. chicken FOYs. After 4 hours and 40 miles I had to go home. The boys called me an hour later and told me that they added R.B. woodpecker to the list. Life is good! _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™ Hotmail®:…more than just e-mail. http://windowslive.com/online/hotmail?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_WL_HM_more_042009 ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
