Fantastic day at Nicollet Island and Boom Island Park near downtown
Minneapolis. I only had about a half-hour, didn't know where to look/listen
next!

A noisy, lively bunch. As per my other post, the highlight was the redheaded
woodpecker - what an unexpected treat.

Here were some of the highlights - probably forgot one or two.

green heron
blue-winged teals - a pair - what a funny looking bird that male is, when
looking straight at you!
spotted sandpiper

great-crested flycatcher
phoebe
least flycatcher
Swainson's thrush
catbirds
house wren
baltimore orioles
warbling vireo

Warblers ( most were singing their hearts out!):
redstart
yellow warbler
Tennesse warbler
blackburnian warbler
orange-crowned warbler
yellow-rumped warbler

red-bellied woodpecker
RED HEADED WOODPECKER!
flicker
downy woodpecker
