On a St. Paul Audubon field trip to Benson Farm Prairie this morning (06/02), Val Cunningham, the group and I had long looks at a very cooperative LeConte's Sparrow. Life bird for most of us.
Benson Farm Prairie is SW of the junction of St Hiway 61 and Co. Rd. J in White Bear Township. Park at Bald Eagle-Otter Lake Regional Park lot (take 61 N to Buffalo St, left, right on Hugo Road, north to parking lot). Then hike north to the prairie. The bird was in the SW part of the prairie.
