Just returned from a week's vacation, taking day trips to different areas & cities in Minnesota. Birding was not the focus of this vacation - but hiking in parks often was - so did enjoy a territorial Connecticut Warbler (circled us three times) in Kathio State Park on the half mile trail next to the Interpretive Center.

Connecticuts are not listed as breeders in the park, but were noted in the Aitkin guide as being present on that half mile circle (rather boggy area).

Had 98 species during the week, including 15 warblers. Black-throated Greens, Blackburnians & Canadas often stole the show. My wife also had over 40 species of wildflowers for the week, in her first field ID foray.

An additional highlight was Nathan's gift of "Minnesota Birds, Where, When and How Many" for Father's Day, by J. Green and B. Janssen, 1975 autographed edition.

Good birding to all!
