I carefully scoped German Lake (near Le Center, Le Seur County) for the Brown Pelican at about 10am. I did not see him/her. I was scoping from the north side of the lake.
I also checked the gravel pits in Courtland (Nicollet Co.) for the Blue Grosbeak, and I did not hear nor see him. However, it was very windy today, and there was some construction going on in the eastern-most pit. (Expected) highlights included a Red-necked Grebe and Forster's Tern in Le Seur County and Lark Sparrows, Scarlet Tanager, and Ovenbird in Nicollet County. Good birding!
