A good resource to check are the MOU Occurrence maps. http://moumn.org

   Occurrence Maps -> Nesting

A look at St. Louis county indicates that Trumperter Swans have not been reported nesting in St. Louis county. You have a first county record!

You can also check the current result for the Minnesota Breeding Bird Atlas. Click on

Subject: [mou-net] Trumpeter Swan cygnets

I found a pair of Trumpeter Swans and 3 cygnets in Voyageurs National Park
this past weekend.

I'm trying to find out if this may be a "first" for Voyageurs National Park.
I'm sure they nested here historically, but Voyageurs was just established
as a national park in 1972.

The location would be in far northern St Louis County in northwest bay on
Crane Lake.
