Got some emails about how much parking costs and could sense the
inference about traffic congestion and inconvenience. Good story to
not staff a shift at the fair. BUT WAIT!
I went online to see about parking costs and found there are many FREE
PARK AND FREE RIDE locations at local churches and other locations all
around the fairgrounds at high frequencies. Go to http://www.mnstatefair.org/pages/park_ride.html
to check it out. There is even a map.
I like the express bus service that picks me up here in Maple Grove
and other locations all across the metro area and runs from 8 am to
midnight for only $5 roundtrip - an express - NO STOPS. Then I found
that I could get it for $4 by ordering early via the web and with a
credit card and having them mail me the passes. Go to http://www.mnstatefair.org/pages/getting_here.html
for info. There is even a map.
Your reasons not to staff on shift at the MOU booth are decreasing
fast. Go ahead. Jump in. You will love it.
Make a difference in a future birder's life.
Have this be the year you do it!
