On Saturday night I counted chimney swifts during the lightening and tornado warnings. I was in the car with the windows up, so I was safe from lightening, and the tornado's path was closer to my home than to me. I counted at 620 Mendelssohn Ave N, in Golden Valley, MN. My count was 565.
Not sure how accurate it was I wanted to do it again. Black birds were quickly going into a chimney with black clouds behind it. Sunday I brought help. With 2 other counters, we averaged 367 swifts.
