Greetings:

I see some of you are reporting your Chimney Swift watch sights to MOU.  We
reported to Ron Windingstad.  Here is our report:

Friday, August 9th we watched a short chimney on a house just north of our
apartment in Faribault.  Kirsten heard three swifts and we saw three birds
flying over us.  No activity on the chimney.

Sunday, August 9th we watched a tall (10 foot) chimney on the Brunswick Hotel
building.  Thre were many swifts flying up high.  Kirsten counted a total of
160 birds.  The largest flock was 27.  We assumed that many of the 27
repeated.  We saw ONLY one swift enter the chimney, so may be there was a
nesting pair in there.

We figured that there must be a chimney between that location and the one on
Friday night.  We have not tried any counts in that area.
