I will be leading my annual MRVAC field trip to Miesville Ravine on Sunday.
Miesville Ravine is rarely visited county park in extream south east Dakota
County. We usually pick up a few early warbler migrants and if the jewelweed
is flourishing, the humingbirds can be thick. This trip is open to all and no
response is necessary other than arriving. We will meet at 8am. Where sturdy
hiking shoes as the trail is steep in one spot. Bring lunch. After lunch, if
there is interest, we will explore the Canon River bottoms a few miles away.

Directions: From Hwy 52 head east on Hwy 50 towards Red Wing. In Miesville
turn south (right) on CR91 (Nicolai Ave), and bear right at fork in road. At
the T after about 5 miles, turn east (left) and follow the road into the
ravine. Turn left into the parking area. This is about an hour south of
Minneapolis.
