Hi All-- I have learned a bit about MN frog ID--thanks to all who have replied. I am still not exactly sure what the frog is that my Green Heron consumed--the general consensus is that it is a Green Frog rather than a Bullfrog. I have added two enlarged photos of the frog:
http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika/GreenHeronEatsFrog# I am not convinced the frog has dorsal-lateral ridges, as Green Frogs should show. Please be warned that these closeups of a frog being speared by a heron are kind of graphic! dan -- Dan or Erika Tallman Northfield, Minnesota http://danerika.googlepages.com/home http://picasaweb.google.com/danerika [email protected] ".... the best shod travel with wet feet" "Beware of all enterprises that require new clothes ...."--Thoreau ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
