I added two more photos to the set -- not great photos, the bird was preening a lot! One does show a bit more of the underside of the tail.
At this point, it seems to be between the bay-breasted and the pine. The leg color does not appear right for the blackpoll but it also appears that the bay-breasted has much darker legs than the bird in the photo. Peterson shows a slight brownish cast to the head on the pine warbler and I think I see that here. I don't see chestnut on the sides but a number of people have seen that. I don't know if the two additional photos will help at all but worth a try. I'm consulting all my field guides but as usual, I tend to lean toward Peterson. (I've got Peterson, Sibley, National Geo, and Stokes.) I'm not sure of the ID, so thought I'd ask the experts on this list! I'm thinking pine warbler and hoping it isn't a blackpoll! Any and all help appreciated! http://www.flickr.com/photos/gailw/sets/72157622228136858/ Gail Gail Wieberdink [email protected] ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
