Thank you Thomas for that enthusiastic wrap up. Officially there were 57 individuals that volunteered for a 4-hour shift at the MOU booth. For a total of over 288 volunteer hours. Of those 57 volunteers, 8 volunteered for more than one shift. Thomas Maiello volunteered for the most shifts with 5. We can only guess at the number of people who stopped by the booth, but it is likely over a thousand. Volunteers answered all sorts of bird-related questions, and some totally odd questions. They handed out information about MOU, upcoming birding events, citizen science opportunities for birders, and DNR and Golden-winged Warbler conservation posters. On behalf of Kate & myself, thank you to everyone who volunteered and did a wonderful job representing the MOU by sharing their passion for birds and conservation. I hope to see you at the fair next year...or even better...out birding! Jen Vieth
