From the FOREST along the Straight River:

Cedar Waxwings were first noted  on our apple trees last Sunday.  Today they
were feeding heavily with 25-30 birds feeding at one time  Several of the birds
were juveniles. Two A. Robins appeared also.  A N. Flicker appeared on the the
ground near the sunflower feeder.  There seems to be more green leaves on the
trees  this year when the Cedar Waxwings began their feeding and the apples are
not as ripe as they began feeding.
