Join us, Friday, October 9, 2009 at 4:00 p.m., in the Ben Pomeroy Student Alumni Learning Center Room 215W, on the St Paul U of M campus, for an amazing afternoon with gifted author and nature photographer, Jim Gilbert. There will be a reception and an opportunity to meet some of The Raptor Center’s education birds afterwards. This event is FREE and open to the public.
Jim is a consulting naturalist for WCCO radio, and has written“Jim Gilbert's Nature Notebook” and "Through Minnesota's Seasons with Jim Gilbert." Jim will share his many experiences and inspired passion on birds and conservation – topics most befitting the mission of the Duke Lectureship Series. Please help us plan ahead by sending an RSVP to this link: https://cc.ahc.umn.edu/ustar/vce/register_event.cfm?event_id=5031. Teachers will also receive 1 credit for Continuing Education by registering here. (*Note* In the first step, select Homecoming 2009. In the second step, the Duke Lecture with Jim Gilbert will be an option. Please continue to follow the online directions.) The Duke Lectureship Series began in 2006 by Dr. William H. and Mary E. Holleman, lifelong friends of Dr. Gary Duke, co-founder of The Raptor Center. The Hollemans’ gift to establish a lectureship endowment fund pays tribute to Dr. Duke’s work and legacy at the University of Minnesota and The Raptor Center. An annual lecture hosted by The Raptor Center features speakers on the topic of avian medicine, avian conservation, and other pertinent avian topics. ---- Join or Leave mou-net:http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives:http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
