When I was entering Hawk Owl sightings on my Google map I realized how messed
up Google maps were or how out dated Google maps were for this area in Lake
County because I could not find Stoney River Rd. Google maps do not show
correctly or not even close where Stoney River Road comes in from the north off
FR 11 and I do not think they added the Whyte Rd correctly as well.

The road going straight north out of Two Harbors is CR 2. CR 2 will come to a
"T" and that road is CR 15. If you go west on CR 15 you will leave Lake Co.
and drive into St. Louis Co. and CR 15 will change into CR 16. If you drive
east on CR 15 then you will see the continuance of CR 2 on your left. From the
corner of CR 15 & CR 2 you drive east for about 1/2 mile and the Stoney River
Road will be on your left. I think there is even a sign on CR 15/FR 11 for the
Stoney River Rd. Stoney River Rd heads due north and parallels CR 2. Stoney
River Rd will end on the north end at Hwy 1 or just west of the small town of
Isabella. CR 2 will end at Hwy 1 several miles (13+ miles) west of where
Stoney River Rd ends at Hwy 1

Google map doesn't really show these roads very clearly but again if you switch
the map to satellite then you can see these roads correctly but unfortunately
they are not marked and having experience in this area helps. So be careful if
you are driving up here to look for Hawk Owls and do not use the google map in
driving these back roads in this area or you will be lost!
