Could not find the Long-tailed Duck this morning 7-11, saw a Kingfisher and
Amer.Black Duck (Sartell Paper Mill Bridge).
FrankGosiak and I w/ a civilian pass birded a perimeter route in Camp Ripley
this afternoon. Sylvan Dam of the CrowWingRiver: 7 Trumpeters, 7 CGeese, 14
C.Mergansers, and a Kingfisher. TreeSparrows won the count at 47, 5 Snow
Buntings as singlets or pairs, 2 Ravens. Disappointingly, no finches(cept
Goldfinch), owls, raptors, or shrikes, did view 20 species, and 3
porcupines(not quite HawkOwl material). mjb
