I took a drive today up MN Highway 61 from Two Harbors to Grand
Marais and back, and found 26 species including some interesting
ones:

Horned Grebe (3) - mouth of the Stewart River

Long-tailed Duck (2) - Father Baraga's Cross in Schroeder

Merlin - 1 mile west of Little Marais

Northern Hawk Owl (6) - one at Flood Bay, one 0.3 mile west of the
Gooseberry SP entrance, two a mile east of Little Marais (CR 6), one
a mile east of Sugar Loaf Cove, and one on Cook County Road 7, 1.5
miles north of Highway 61.

Bohemian Waxwings - numerous large flocks in Cook County including
one with about 350 birds at Good Harbor Bay. Also saw flocks of pure
Cedars and mixed Cedar/Bohemian flocks, as well as 30+ American
Robins.
