Hi everyone, Wells Lake has rapidly opened up within the last two days and is starting to host some variety. I went there after work this afternoon and the main attraction were 56 Tundra Swans.
Beside those, there were Canvasback, Redhead, Lesser Scaup, American Wigeon and Red-breasted Merganser. Singles or small numbers of all. There were also many Common Mergansers with a few Common Goldeneye mixed in too. Also present was a single Great Blue Heron and a few Double-crested Cormorants. The next few weeks should be pretty exciting! Good birding!
