Friends reported to me they had seen a Great Horned Owl nest near our homes. I did a quick 2 minute drive to the site and could easily see a GHO on an exposed nest visible from a parking area. Well protected from visitors I might add.
What is the protocol for reporting exact locations of nesting birds? Don't want to flood the area with gawkers but would like to share the experience if others are interested. The bird holds the priority. This nest is pretty well protected from close approach and the parking area is well used although less at this time of year.
