Took a quick swing through the Clearbrook rice paddies on Saturday
looking for signs of Spring on the Vernal Equinox.
First of Year Robin was waiting for me at the main access road.
T & T Swans, several hundred. Plenty of Canada geese. Mallards and
lots of Pintail duck. Also saw five B. Eagle in the area, 2 N.
Harrier, and 7 Bb Magpie.
At the Bagley Farm
Monday 3/22, FOY Red-winged Blackbirds and Red-tailed Hawk. Purple
Finch numbers are increasing at the feeders.
Tuesday 3/23, FOY Sandhill Cranes heard calling in flight, American
Woodcock arrived on the property. Juncos have moved into the area and
are thick under the feeders.
Wednesday 3/24, FOY American Tree Sparrows at the feeders. P. Finch
and Juncos are singing heartily. A few Redpoll and Pine Siskin
continue to visit.
