The owl started calling at 8:22 this evening. We had just turned to leave after
15 minutes of loitering around Trail marker 0.3 when it began to call.

Other birds seen along the trail at dusk include a pair of Hooded Mergs on the
pond near where the owl is being heard, numerous robins and a flock of approx.
250 ring-bill gulls passing over all at once.

Directions: On Larpenteur Ave. halfway between Dale and Rice Sts., you will
find a parking area on the north side of the road with the sign Woodview County
Open Space. Park in the lot and follow the paved path away from Larpenteur past
the marsh. The owl has been reportedly consistently at the trail marker 3/10ths
of a mile in.

Thanks to Karen and others who have reported on this owl.
