This morning at Rapids Lake MVNWR ther were 7 warbler species: 13
Yellow-rumped, 11 Yellow, 4 Northern Waterthrush, 2 Blue-winged, 1 Tennessee, 1
Black and White, and 1 Blackburnian. The Blackburnian Warbler was a beautiful
male that I first noticed singing about 100 feet away. I stayed in the same
location, and he came right to me. Add the Palm and Yellowthroat at Carver
Park yesterday, and this turned into a surprising 9 warbler species weekend.
Other highlights today included Bank Swallow, Sedge Wren, Gray Catbird, 3 Brown
Thrasher, and 3 male Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.
