First waves of warblers today at Sherburne Refuge - 95% Yellow-rumped, also
Black-throated Green, Tennessee, Yellow and Palm. Possible Pine as well
(never got a look, and very hard for me to tell the difference from Chippy's
diverse trills).
The jewels of the kingdom have begun returning.
For those who inquired about the location in Big Stone Refuge that had the
White-faced Ibises, Common Moorhen and Ferruginous Hawk on Saturday, it was
the corner of 390th and 155th, a mile or so south of the headquarters. We
walked in half an hour or so along the marsh road, then viewed the overhead
Ferruginous upon return. Two White-faced flew up, giving excellent looks.
Moorhen called once, then responded to Nate's IPhone calls twice.
