Lake Byllesby

Lake levels are rising and so are shorebird numbers. I counted between 750-800
total shorebirds late afternoon, with Least Sandpipers comprising approximately
600 individuals. New birds appeared to be arriving while I was there. Others
species included:

Hudsonian Godwit - 3 (one large molting female and 2 alternate males)
Ruddy Turnstone - 1
Dunlin - 55
Short-billed Dowitcher - 60
White-rumped Sandpiper - 6
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 20
Pectoral Sandpiper - 5
Lesser Yellowlegs
Semipalmated Plover - 25
Killdeer - 10

Apparently the Western Sandpiper wetland was devoid of birds this afternoon.
