The Marbled Godwit was not found by us early this PM although there were Dunlin, Least, Spotted and Pectoral Sandpipers, Sanderling and a breeding plumaged Ruddy Turnstone present in this area. Most birds were closer to the Clark and Lake intersection. The strangest bird there was a female Lapland Longspur on the beach with some of the shorebirds. Both late in the season and a very out of place location, although where else would they land in Ramsey County.

Also of interest was a single Sandhill Crane on the very south end of Grass Lake, fairly close to the freeway. A mate on a nest in the area somewhere?????
