As I was gardening this morning I heard the call of the Great Crested Flycatcher. Sure enough, they were checking out two of our bird houses large enough to host them. Last year they nested in one of them and three fledged. I am hoping they nest here again this year. Before the rain, we started putting up a third house that will work for them as well. Moral of story, always be prepared with a post and house for whomever you want to bring in.
