5/22/10
11:00am

Highlights:

Dunlin - 240 (one flock w/200, one w/ 40)
Ruddy Turnstone - 4 (down from 11 on Thursday)
Hudonsian Godwit - alternate male
White-rumped Sp - 6
Yellow-headed Blackbird - male and female on mudflat (I'd given up on this
species)

Red-headed Woodpecker - A total surprise at this location. A single bird
flushed from a power pole opposite the entrance to the Great River Industrial
Park north of Randolph. I watched it fly for at least 1/4 mile to the north
where it was joined by a second individual (!). They kept flying. This species
has become very scarce in Dakota County, among others.
