Held this past weekend. Overall results were similar to what others are
finding in the rest of the state.

164 tentative species including 19 warblers, 5 vireos, 20 shorebirds, 7
flycatchers, and 11 sparrows.

Most of the shorebirds were found at Hamden Slough where Bisson Lake is in
drawdown and at Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge. Other notables
included a Black-backed Woodpecker on the Bohall Trail in Itasca State Park and
two Ravens at Glendolough State Park in Ottertail County (considerably south of
normal range), and a Ruddy Turnstone that spent the weekend on the shore of
Lake Detroit in town where it could be easily found by anyone interested..
Warblers that were residents were for the most part on territory in several
places. Migrants were observed on several trips but the number of migrants
were down considerably and few of each species were seen.
