Olive-sided Flycatcher (front, very vocal, although "quick" portion of song is
infrequent; here 1.5 weeks), Cerulean Warbler (has been heard & seen on both
left and right forks, 5-10 minutes walk in, alternate song), Least Bittern
(back portion of trail, near lake) on Blue Hill Trail, Sherburne NWR last
night. Could not find the posted Common Moorhen on the Auto Tour, nor the Ibis
at 3 & 23.

Singing Whip-poor-wills at Ann Lake/Sand Dunes around 9:30 (heard from parking
lot).

On vacation Monday through Thursday, plan to spend some significant time
birding. Only commitment so far is to bird Aitkin County on Wednesday or
Thursday. Suggestions about interesting birds/locations within three hours of
central MN would be welcome. Still need some of the "southern warblers" for
year (Hooded, Prothonotary, Kentucky), a few of the "northerners" (Magnolia,
Bay-breasted, Blackpoll), Tufted Titmouse, Eurasian Collared-Dove as well as
some of the rarer birds. If you have ideas, please send them to my son's email
([email protected]), since I will be away from the office until Friday.
Thanks!

Good birding to all!
