If you'd like to see Dickcissels without leaving the metro area, there are quite a few in Savage along CR18, just after it leaves US 169. You can hear them from the road on the east side, but I think it is not safe to stop on CR18. If you continue south to the 2nd light and turn left into the Home Depot parking lot, you can stop safely and are much closer to the birds(some were within 20-30 feet of the lot, and occasionally they perched and sang from the small trees in the lot.
