This afternoon at Crow-Hassan Park Reserve in northern Hennepin County I observed one Northern Bobwhite, and probably spooked two others nearby that I only heard rustling in the vegetation.
In the grassland east of Prairie Lake I heard a Bobwhite calling, but couldn't see it, so I started walking towards the sound. I got to a shrub clump on top of the hill where I found the bird sitting calmly - in clear view - only ten feet in front of me. I had no camera with me to photograph the bird, but I assume it is/was breeding in the area and could be found again. -Ben Sandstrom ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
