It is almost here!!!!! The Fair is Coming! The Fair is Coming! Let the bells
ring out and the banners fly! Feast your eyes on it! It's too to be true but
it's almost here!

So far we have had one of the quickest signing up for the staffing the MOU
State Fair booth that I can remember! Thank you all who have signed up so far
for your interest and willingness to jump in and let others share the wonder of
birds through your experience, knowledge and passion! If you like, please share
why you signed up with others so they can hear what excited you about staffing
the booth.

We have filled almost half of our staffing shifts and still have excellent
spots for you to play!

This year we have new toys and have significantly modernized our table and
displays!

We have a brand new commercial spinning wheel that will have 12 bird pictures.
Instead of just giving out posters and goodies, people will spin the wheel and
get to identify the bird that the wheel stops on - or we get to talk about the
bird that comes up aor share stories. Then they will get a handout of a poster,
a bird stamp "tattoo" or whatever else will be on the table. I have visited
many expositions this last year and the clicking, spinning wheel attracts
people and kids like crazy! I love this kind of game and those that play will
get a new appreciation of birds, sharing what they know and learning from you
and the info on the table.

Of even greater thrill!!!!!! Technology has arrived at the MOU State Fair
Booth!!!! We have a new state of the art dual-point touch screen computer
display and a plethora of software that will greatly enhance the interest and
learning for those who visit our table. Our goal is to have this be an
incredibly user friendly system that will be easily mastered even by those just
coming by. This is hands on stuff. State Fair goers will remember their
experience and the on-line offerings of the MOU website, the passion of
birding, and the fun of playing with technology to learn about birds.

Please don't miss this opportunity to share your passion with novice and
visiting birders and make a difference in people's lives by illuminating the
beauty and wonder of birds. We have the tools to help you in your passion and
you just might learn a thing or two, to boot!

Don't forget, you get free tickets into the fair and all the people watching
you can imagine, easy access to the variety of food and drinks that fair
offers, and only a 4 hour commitment before or after you peruse the wonders of
this year's Great Community Get Together - the Minnesota State Fair.

Don't miss this opportunity. There is only on 2010 in your life - isn't it
about time you jumped and experienced what everyone else is talking about?

See you there! (I will be grabbing a bunch of staffing spots pretty soon so you
had better grab them now before I steal them away - for me the best times are
the early morning when the fair first wakes up - around 6 a.m. - easy parking
-- and then the last shift to watch the folks put their animals to bed or to
watch the fireworks.) (Grab the bus tickets via the mail and park at a mall and
let the hard part of getting there and back be handled as well as the gas for
only $5 or park and ride for free. Check out the MN State Fair web site for
info.
