Although I haven't duplicated the large numbers of warblers seen moving south 
unusually early in Duluth on 27 July, the following birds were all of interest 
in the Duluth- Superior area during the last week, many of which appear to be 
unusually early migrants...

Greater Scaup- male at Hearding Island, Park Point on 4 August with 2 Lesser 
Scaup, unusually early migrant?
Bufflehead- female at Interstate Island (MN side) on 2 August, unusually early 
migrant?
Great Egret- one seen at Miller Creek on 4-5August, unusual in Northeast MN
American White Pelican- 7 seen at Interstate Island (Wisconsin side) on 4 August
Bonaparte's Gull- 3 juveniles and 3 molting adults on Allouez Bay, Wisconsin 
Point on 2 August
Baird's Sandpiper- locally high count of 66 at various locations in Duluth 
today 
(5 August)
Philadelphia Vireo- molting adult at Southworth Marsh, Park Point on 3 August, 
early migrant
Bay-breasted Warbler- molting adult on Wisconsin Point on 2 August, early 
migrant
Evening Grosbeak- a few continue to move down the North Shore of Lake Superior 
in Duluth, including a flock of 8 seen today along London Road...
