Hi folks,

While birding Aitkin County on Saturday and again today, I observed Northern
Shrikes. The observation on Saturday took place about 7 miles northeast of
Aitkin, and this bird was actively hunting sparrows in a brushland
management area. Today I observed a Northern Shrike and a Merlin
interacting in a snag in a cow pasture-not sure who was going after whom,
but the Merlin did eventually move to a different tree. Interesting! This
took place a couple of miles southeast of Aitkin.

Cheers,

Debbie
