I arrived at the first parking lot at 9:30am and met a birder from Madison, WI and a MN Birder name Dan C. We spotted the adult Long-tailed Jaeger chasing Ring-billed Gulls and the jaeger pretty much stayed in the area until Jim Lind and Peder Svingen showed up.
At one time the Long-tailed Jaeger literally came right over us chasing a Ring-billed Gull and luckily I had my camera and took several photos of it. I posted the photos here: http://colderbythelakebirding.blogspot.com/2010/10/long-tailed-jaeger-10-18-10.html I also added some google maps to help those who might be interested in learning where exactly where we are parked when we come to scan for jaegers. I left at 12pm and missed out on the Pomarine and Parasitic Jaeger but I am happy they are still around and more than likely I'll be out there again tomorrow. I cannot get tired of watching these guys!
