Today was a spectacular day of raptor migration at Hawk Ridge here in
Duluth! 1134 raptors were tallied today, which included 729 Red-tailed
Hawks, 311 Bald Eagles, 24 Golden Eagles and 49 of those arctic-loving,
fluffy Rough-legged Hawks. Rough-legged Hawks are one of my favorite birds,
and I wanted to share a cool photo I took today of a fly-by immature dark
morph Rough-legged Hawk. Enjoy!

Today and tomorrow's light north winds should push birds south throughout WI
and MN. Raptor migration is so much fun.

Good hawkwatching,
