Steve Carlson found a WHITE-EYED VIREO on the 3rd, in Bloomington, below the Pond House and Dakota Mission, which just west of Portland Avenue on 104th Street. Take the main path from the parking lot down the bluff, go west over a boardwalk that crosses a stream. Continue west to a boardwalk with a black surface. The bird was just to the right of this. Steve watched the bird work its way to the top of a bluff where it then disappeared, and he could not re-find it. On October 29th, a PACIFIC LOON was reported by Karl Bardon in Duluth, from the 19th street access of Park Point. Another was seen by Al Schirmacher at Garrison Harbor in Crow Wing County on the 30th, and on the 31st one was at the beach of Lake Waconia in Carver County, along with several BLACK SCOTERS, WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, and SURF SCOTERS. On November 1st, another PACIFIC LOON was reported by Milt Blomberg from the south side of Lake Koronis in Meeker County. On November 2nd, Nicholas Tangen found a SURF SCOTER on Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis, near Lake of the Isles Parkway East and James Avenue South. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was still at the northern end Vadnais Lake, Ramsey County, on November 3rd, and it's also been seen at nearby Sucker Lake. A female-plumaged HARLEQUIN DUCK was in Grand Marais, Cook County on the 30th. A CATTLE EGRET has been north of the town of Aitkin in Aitkin County since October 29th. Warren Nelson found it about eight miles north of the Mississippi River bridge on Aitkin County Road 1, and on the 2nd a second CATTLE EGRET was just to the south of the junction of Aitkin County Roads 1 and 22. A late AMERICAN WOODCOCK was found by Mark Tarnowski at the Excel Energy Center in downtown Minneapolis on November 3rd. In St. Louis County, Dee Kuder reported an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER along the Herriman Lake Trail on November 1st, about a mile from the trail head. Two TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES were in Two Harbors, Lake County on the 30th. One was of the east side of the Agate Bay lighthouse and the other was near 1st Street and 3rd Avenue. And Dave Benson reported the first PINE GROSBEAK of the season on October 31st from Judge C. R. Magney State Park in Cook County.
