On a brisk morning walk, we observed two flocks of Bohemian Waxwings (each of about 50 birds) feeding on fruit trees along Oak Leaf Lane (on the west side on Silver Lake), just northwest of the town of Battle Lake. Other birds include a couple of local hangers-on: a Red- winged Blackbird and a Mourning Dove.

We did not see the following (yet), but our birding buddy Jeff Schultz is regularly seeing an Eastern Towhee at his feeders near the town of Ottertail. Steve Millard also recently saw Bohemian Waxwings in the fruit trees of the campus of M State/Fergus Falls. Steve also spotted a Golden Eagle at the Rothsay prairies.
