'Natural History" is published bimonthly by the American Museum of Natl History. I have subscribed for many years. It is a wonderful magazine that covers many subjects in natural history--- including a fair number of birds research. They suspended publication last year for nine months or so, but have started up again.
If you click on the home page here you will see a feature article about the long-wattled umbrella bird of S America. If you click on "in print", you will find the archive of past issues back to 1909. You can also check "departments" and then select "features". The current issue January 2011 has an article about territorial behavior in common loons. The last issue is not avail on line, but if you look around you will find a number of articles about different birds and the wonderful world of other life forms --- as well as archeology, astronomy, geology (the physical sciences). http://www.naturalhistorymag.com/ Gordon Andersson St Paul (P.S. I noticed the post about WWCR in Ely after my last message. Any sightings of crossbills nearer the metro area?) ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
