I live too far south to have much input on the ravens, but I did a little
look on eBird of the sightings of "boreal" birds over this month and last
month in the Dakota's, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

It looks like Hoary Redpolls have barely bumped into the United States here
with only sporadic sightings in very northern MN and MI in the last two
months. Common Repdolls on the other hand, while only having one sighting
as far south as the Twin Cities in Minnesota in December, there have been
many Common Redpoll sightings this month in central/eastern WI and western
MI. Bohemian Waxwings seem to have similar sightings to Common Redpolls.
So it seems some of the boreal birds have kind of spread themselves around
more in Wisconsin than in Minnesota (except in northern MN).

Pine Siskins seem to be all over the place, so I think their "disappearance"
local, because they seem to be spread about, although not that common.

I for one would like to see some of these birds down in the Cities again
like a few years ago when the Redpolls were abundant, but they certainly
don't seem to be as high in numbers this winter.
