Six Twin Cities birders headed north to spend Saturday in the Sax-Zim bog and
Sunday morning in Duluth.  Another spectacular trip, with a lot of highlights,
including 3 owl species.

Sax-Zim Bog
Common Redpolls (all feeders)
Hoary Redpoll - 1 classic "frosty" individual with the redpoll flock at the
Little Whiteface Rd. feeders.
Boreal Chickadee (2) - Admiral Rd. feeders
Black-billed Magpie - Sax Rd.
Rough-legged Hawk
Northern Goshawk
Great Gray Owl
Northern Hawk-Owl
Pine Grosbeaks
Interestingly, NO Gray Jays were seen.  We also heard second-hand (from the
Ontario birders) that the Evening Grosbeaks showed up at the Blue Spruce Rd.
feeders Saturday morning right after we left that area.

Duluth (Sunday morning)
Snowy Owl - Harbor area

Scott Loss
St. Paul
