Bernie: What about some person with Kim Eckert's book who is new to birding or from out of state and does not get either of the birding bulletin boards for Minnesota? Nobody whether local or out of state should have to worry about their safety while driving down a public road or stopping along that public road. If all of the birders stop driving on Stickney Road, that pretty much guarantees that that guy is going to harm/kill a local person.

The issue appears to be whether you wish to roll the dice with the lives of birds or the lives of human beings. This guy apparently has a history as a menace and sooner or later someone will be hurt or worse. I come to the discussion with about 60 years as a lawyer and I agree with my colleagues that this man is a disaster waiting to happen. Those of us who are connected to this information network are able to avoid the area, but there are birders who will have no idea about the potential danger. I should think the local population would be more concerned about the potential problem, and I guess I would like to hear from them as to why or why not we should view this man as a potential danger. Perhaps a little history from them would be helpful. Bernie Friel -- Bernard P.
