Went to look at the waterfowl on Hyland Lake in the park in Bloomington
today and found an abundance and variety of waterfowl present, with all
three Merganser species, Redheads, Buffleheads, Shovelers, and Blue-winged
Teal being present.

Common Merganser - Around 8
Hooded Merganser - Over 25
Red-Breasted Merganser - 5 (maybe more, seen 4 males and 1 female)
Ring-Necked Duck - Lots, 30+
Lesser Scaup - 15+
Redhead - 2
Bufflehead - At least 8 (may have been more, about half and half males and
females)
Northern Shoveler - Around 15
Blue-winged Teal - 2
Gadwall - 3+
Pied-billed Grebe - 1
American Coot - 3
Bald Eagle - 2
Song Sparrow - 4
Many Mallards and Canada Geese including a couple who made an impressive
fight out on the ice.

It seems I'm only missing Ruddy Duck, Green-winged Teal, and Wigeons for the
year now. :-)

Also went to the Bass Ponds yesterday, but did not see as much. Highlights
there included Lesser Scaup, many Ring-billed Gulls, Great Blue Herons, and
5 Pied-billed Grebes.
