The "girls" are starting to show up! Today is the first day I've noticed any number of female red-winged blackbirds on the refuge. Up to this point, it 's been mostly males.
We had common loons on the refuge yesterday, 04-07-11. There are LOTS of American goldfinches around - on the landscape and at the feeders this past week. More than I've seen all winter.
