This evening the first winter male White-winged Scoter was refound on
Shakopee Lake in north central Chippewa County, MN. The bird was initially
found on Tuesday, April 12 by Dan & Pam Guynn and included in their
seasonally report for the day. Bill J. Unzen reported two White-winged
Scoters on Shakopee Lake yesterday morning.

After concluding an unsuccessful 1 hour + search of the lake from Chippewa
County Park # 1 which borders the lake on the east side I decided to scan
the lake form the south side before heading back to Willmar. The WW Scoter
was observed from 70th Street NE at 7:50 p.m. The bird when seen was not
with any other waterfowl.

Also seen on the lake from Chippewa County Park # 1 were 8 Horned Grebes
along with a variety of other waterfowl.
