My daughter and I were having a wonderful time pretending to hunt the ducks on Lake Sallie this morning in the two inches of snow that fell over night, until she slid down the bank into the lake. Needless to say our trip was cut short. There were several hundred each of ring-necks and L. scaup. Still had all three mergansers. Red-necked grebes were still there along with horned and pied-billed grebes. C. Goldeneyes, buffleheads, mallards, wood ducks. Also had FOY y.r.warbler, e. phoebe, r.c. kinglet, osprey, and N. goshawk. Several dozen c. loons, some b. eagles, a hundred or so r.b. gulls, some t. swallows, song sparrows. Nothing else too fancy. Muskrat Lake was completely open! Spring must be out there somewhere. ---- Join or Leave mou-net: http://lists.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=mou-net Archives: http://lists.umn.edu/archives/mou-net.html
