This afternoon, I had the pleasure of watching two very active ospreys
at Beaver Lake County Park in St. Paul. They were hovering over the
lake, catching fish (sunfish?), carrying the fish back and forth, and
perching in the trees along the public trail on the north end of the lake.
They were usually within sight of each other, but I didn’t see any clear
interaction, or any nesting behavior. I watched them for about 30
minutes until my fingers became too cold to hold my binoculars. What
an awesome sight!

The park is at 1050 Edgewater Boulevard, on St. Paul’s east side, near
McKnight and Maryland.
