Question: has the current price of gasoline influenced the amount of driving you are willing to do for birding?
How far would you drive today to see a bird that you do or have considered important to you? How much are you willing to invest in pursuit of your usual listing goals if you have such goals? Has car-pooling become more important? I hope to receive enough responses to discuss this in the blog I write for the Minneapolis StarTribune. I will not quote anyone by name unless I first get your permission to do so. My limit, by the way, is 50 miles roundtrip, $10 in gasoline, and not more than twice a week. The route I drive almost daily is five miles door to door, with stops for walking and listening. Thanks.
